The 96th annual Academy Awards, otherwise known as The Oscars (you might have heard of them) were held last night (Sunday 10 March) in Los Angeles, California.
Oppenheimer swept the floor in terms of awards won, and they made a strong bid for the Leading Hair accolades too...
We got the low down from the hair experts on the looks that they loved.

“My cool hair fave of the night goes to Florence Pugh. Absolute bombshell beauty here with a messy sexy chic look that sidesteps what we think of as traditional red carpet and which will work so well for clients this summer."
Gina Conway, owner of Gina Conway Salon & Spa
“I absolutely loved Jamie Lee Curtis’ short style which manages to look simultaneously edgy and effortless. The colour is stunning and suits her skin tone beautifully, and the height where the hair is blown back from the face gives it a real glamour. My go to products for this look would be Nine Yards Silver Lining Shampoo and True Cool Silver Conditioner to give that beautiful clean colour."
Barrie Stephen, UK Brand Ambassador, Nine Yards
“The bob continues to hold its own with a number of wearers looking sophisticated on the red carpet, America Ferrera, Carey Mulligan, Zendaya, Florence Pugh – interestingly they all had different lengths, textures and ways of wearing it showing the enduring versatility of the bob. For an event like this where fashion really takes centre stage, an above the shoulder bob lets the clothing be fully seen and looks beautifully polished.”
Andrea Dorata, salon owner Dorata and a Guest Artist for L’Oreal Professionnel (and a huge fan of the bob, he teaches their commerical bobs cutting course!)
“It’s really interesting how wearable everything was this year, with a lot of loose looks. Jennifer Lawrence wore a pared down version of Hollywood waves, while Emily Blunt and Ariana Grande did the more traditional up-dos. It’s great to see cuts on the red carpet and I think we’ll see this filtering through to the consumer when it comes to things like wedding and occasion hair.”
Cally Borg, @thelifestylehairstylist and occassion hair specialist
"Anya Taylor Joy was my fave of the night, beautifully simple but executed perfectly but then amped up for the Vanity Fair after party with her bejewelled head piece."
