At
Hairdressers Journal International we are committed to supporting the Hair and Barber Council as well as its beauty partner, British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) in their
ongoing fight to get the hair, barber and beauty industry regulated. Other affiliate supporters of this cause include:
- The Professional Hairdresser
- IHAA
- HABIA
- MHFed
- British Masters Barbers (BMB)
- Barber EVO
- British Barbers Association (BBA)
- Good Salon Guide
Keith Conniford, The Hair and Barber Council Registrar is grateful for the support. He stated, "I am absolutely delighted that these organisations are working together with us. They are huge supporters of the work we do, and already help us in many ways, whilst adding yet more strength and status to 'shaping the future together' for our incredible industry!"
To reach their goal, the two organisations are lobbying the government. As a result, they hope to amend the current voluntary Act of Parliament from voluntary to mandatory.
Many businesses in the industry are feeling a strain from the current pandemic. Therefore, the work of the council and BABTAC is essential during this time of turmoil and they urge you to take action. "Now more than ever before it is vital to work with us to ensure our industry finally receives the professional status and recognition it both needs and richly deserves" said Keith."We are the go-to voice for Government and our All Party Parliamentary Group is the only parliamentary representation group fighting for the hairdressing and barbering industry!
