Following a successful debut year, the
Fellowship for British Hairdressing is bringing their men’s hairdressing team back for 2020.
The event was initially launched as the Barber Project, but the program is now called PROJECT: Man. The Fellowship for British Hairdressing aims to include even more insight and expertise into all aspects of men’s hairdressing, barbering and shaving.
The campaign PROJECT: Man 2020 will include a calendar of educational mentoring days and opportunities, which will be perfect for furthering technical skills, gaining confidence and boosting salon business.
The 2019 team enjoyed an incredible year of mentoring from a diverse line-up of tutors including Edward Hemmings from Alan D (founding team leader), Matt Gavin from Ruffians, Johnny Shanahan from Barber Barber, Andrea Raymond from Wahl, Dan and Robert Rix from The Company of Master Barbers and Hayden Cassidy from Andis.
New team leader
Jonathan Andrew says: “I am honoured to become the project leader for PROJECT: Man. Men’s hair is something I am very passionate about and there are countless incredible avenues to explore from the salon to the stage. This is going to be a jam-packed year full of things I only wish I could have had when I was starting out.”
The topics covered over the 12 month period shifted from barbering trends, long and short cuts, clipper work, skin fades, beard grooming as well as working with diverse textures. The team also gained insight into photoshoot work and stage presentations, with a debut appearance as a team at this year's Salon International.
