Musical stars sure know how to wow on a red carpet. While over here in the UK we had the
BAFTA awards to sate our glam aspirational needs our attention was also diverted to the States as celebrities hit the Grammy Awards 2019 red carpet.
Here some of our favourite stylists talk us through some of the best looks.
Dua Lipa
Bob hairstyles are super on trend at the moment and in particular one-length bobs like Dua Lipa sported at this years Grammy Awards, which hit that jawline and that have an almost angular finish to give the the hair more dimension. This hairstyle looks fantastic when worn super straight like Dua’s and when the hair has mega shine – think of the glass hair trend! When achieving this look the condition of the hair is incredibly important to ensure the hair is shiny as possible and this can easily be achieved by giving the client a deep conditioning treatment before styling their hair into the chic bob hairstyle and finishing by smoothing the hair over with hot irons. Finish by using a shine spray for even more mirror like shine!

Katy is the master of making short hair look versatile and with this look her hair is mirroring her dress - the roots are on trend and complements the top of the dress. Two-tone dress, two-tone hair. What’s not to like?

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus’ hair look at this years Grammy’s was definitely one of the most stand out looks of the evening. Miley wore her roots slicked back, which can easily be achieved by using a hair gel, and then wore the rest of her hair to one side in long beachy waves. For me, I find creating this look is best achieved by using a pair of hot irons to create S shaped waves and then by scrunching some hair mousse into the waves to give them that almost wet look and more of a textured finish. For added texture, a texturising spray can also be used to finish the look off and give it more volume as well as hold.

Bebe Rexha

Bebe Rexha paired her statement dress with stunning jewellery and a classic hairstyle – a look that I love. To create her style it is best to work with hair that has been washed 24 or 48 hours previously as the hair needs to have some grip and her style is slightly grungy too. Begin with a deep side parting and leave one side of the hair loose and tuck the other behind one ear before beginning to create the french twist shape. Take the hair and use your fingers to gently roll the hair into that classic twist shape and finish carefully with hair pins once you are happy with the placement. Bebe has some height at her crown so you can use your fingers and the end of a comb if needed, to encourage the hair up from the French roll to add some more height. Style the section of hair left out at the front and use a hairspray to ensure the look will last all night.

With a high neckline the only thing you can do is take the hair up - and singer Kasey has done this in a very beautiful, feminine way. It frames the face but has plenty of va-va-voom and volume for height complementing the dress perfectly.
