On Sunday night in Los Angeles the
Golden Globes 2020 took place and our favourite celebrities hit the red carpet showcases their fabulous outfits and full glam. We asked some of our favourite hairstylists their best hair looks from the evening, from beautiful buns to edgy bobs, here is the complete line-up.
J-Lo's Rapunzel Braid Bun
J-Lo's elegant bun is so glamorous. The sleek braided up-do complements her emerald and gold dress and draws attention to the low back and the sweetheart neckline of the gown.

Simon Hill, owner of
SESH Hairdressing and Wella guest artist said: "To create this look it is important to begin with the condition, texture and manageability of the hair, the smoother the hair is the cleaner the updo will appear.
Prepare the hair using a thermal protectant product and generously apply this throughout the mid-lengths and ends of the hair. Pull the hair back towards the crown of the head and take care to remove any lumps when brushing the hair back into this ponytail. Use a fine tooth comb to work the hair smoothly into the hair tie and secure into a ponytail at the crown of the head.
J-Lo's up-do was braided so you can do something similar with clients by using the length of the ponytail to form either one or two braids (depending on the client's hair). Begin to wrap this around into the shape of a bun. To keep this look in place all evening mist a strong hold hairspray over the finished look."
Kerry Washington's Blunt Bob
Kerry's bob hairstyle is a classic look but also takes on a contemporary edge. The super sharp and sleek bob is paired was worn with a side fringe to give some softness to the style. The chin length bob brings out the angles in the Kerry's face and also compliments her black power blazer and satin skirt.

Carly Price, partner stylist at
Muse of London said: "The blunt bob is the haircut of 2020 and Kerry Washington has nailed this look at the Golden Globes 2020. Wearing her bob all one length at the chin has allowed Kerry’s hair to look extremely thick and healthy. Kerry has also had her hair styled super sleek and straight, which allows the hair to look its most pristine and full of shine.
To create this look in the salon, I would firstly cut the hair all one length, ensuring it’s symmetrical and has a blunt finish. To create the side parting, you can easily flip the hair to one side of the head, which automatically gives the hair further volume, before cutting in the side fringe ensuring this blends effortlessly into the rest of the hair. To finish this look I always use a serum to ensure all flyaways are at bay and the hair looks smooth."
Zoe Kravitz's Chic Pixie Cut
Zoe has always been known for her long braided locks, yet at the Golden Globes 2020 she has surprised us all with a super chic
pixie cut.
Suzie McGill, owner of
Rainbow Room International’s Uddingston Salon, Schwarzkopf Professional UK ambassador said: "The beauty of this haircut is that it’s effortless and little to no styling is required. However, texturising sprays like salt sprays can be used to give the haircut some added edge and texture. With Zoe’s cropped 'do she’s also incorporated a short wispy fringe, which is super on-trend at the moment and helps to further frame her face and give the look a fun and youthful appearance.
Pixie and cropped hairstyles will remain popular throughout 2020 but always ensure you speak to your clients in regards to the best short hairstyle to suit not only their face shape, but also their personality and lifestyle. Also advise clients if they wish to grow this look out in the future it may take some time so they will need to experiment with different looks."
Nicole Scherzinger's Loose Up-do
Nicole wore her hair in a seemingly effortless loose bun for the awards ceremony, with a face-framing side fringe cascading down the side of her face and shoulder. This look is simple yet sophisticated and is on-trend as we move towards the spring and summer months.

Krysia West, owner of
Perfectly Posh Hair and Aveda colour ambassador said: "Clients that opt for this style would be best to wash their hair 24 hours prior to their appointment, as the hair will require some level of manageability and hold in order to stay in place.
Begin with a deep side parting and add a loose tousled wave throughout the hair, as this texture will provide the base for your style. Gather the hair upward into a loose bun and use a bungee cord before using hair pins to secure any loose pieces and make sure you leave a section loose for the front.
Use your fingers to work the hair and create movement and definition. Mould the hair into shape at the front to ensure a placement that you are happy with and gently loosen the hair around the client's face to create a wispy effect."
