Last year was the 40th anniversary of the Alternative Hair Show, marking an incredible achievement in both fund-raising for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer charities and this year it returns to Salon International.
This year, a closer link with Salon International makes it easier for both UK and international visitors to attend the show, which will be taking place on Sunday 15 October at 7pm.
There is always a theme to the Alternative Hair Show, providing inspiration to the artistic teams and setting the ambience. This year that theme is Tapestry, signifying a journey through time, a blending of creative ideas and artistry, demonstrated by the individual presentations coming together as one event.
The International Visionary Award finals will also be returning to the Alternative Hair Show 2023 as a live section of the show, with its three awards: Cut and Colour, Avant-Garde and Men’s. The Visionary Award, created by Alternative Hair President Anthony Mascolo, has proven a wonderful exposure of young and unknown talent and has thrilled audiences since the very first year it was included in the running order.
The Alternative Hair Show 2023 will include some new, never-before-seen artistic teams joining the strong line-up of presentations. Tony Rizzo, Alternative Hair Founder, shared: "On a personal level, it’s important to me to ensure we reach the financial targets needed to aid ongoing research projects, as well as supporting staff in hospitals both in the UK and abroad. Finding a cure for Leukaemia has always been my mission and it is so important that we support the continuous research projects both in the UK and abroad.
