The 36th alternative hair show - the latest event details for 2018

Alternative Hair and Fighting Leukaemia have released further details for this year's Alternative Hair Show which will be held on the Sunday 14 October. In its 36th year, the Alternative Hair Show is a stand out event in the hairdressing world, hosting leading inspirational hairdressers and awe-inspiring artistic teams from across the globe. Participants come together to help raise vital funding for Fighting Leukaemia, supporting doctors, research scientists and children and families suffering from blood cancers. With two performances, the evening will be a celebration of the art and craft of global hairdressing linked closely with the generosity of the profession and generous support of the sponsors. The beautiful image, specially created to promote this year’s show is a collaboration between Tony Rizzo and photographer, Roberto Aguilar, illustrating the theme Mystique. The image cleverly portrays the quality of mystery, glamour and regal power that is Mystique. The evening will once again include the finals of the ever-popular Visionary Award, a competition to find new stars of hairdressing. Devised by Alternative Hair global president, Anthony Mascolo, there are three Visionary Award categories: cut & colour, mens’ and avante-garde. Uniting 60 professional hairdressing magazines from across the world the AIPP awards receives hundreds of entries from across the globe. This year will brings mystery and inspiration as the show teams translate the theme: Mystique. And for the first time, this year the Alternative Hair Show will move to the beautiful and mysterious Masonic Temple in the Freemasons’ Hall in London’s Covent Garden.
