While women have long loved their naturally curls locks, getting male clients to embrace their texture has been more of a struggle.
With a new crop of curly-haired stars showing that movement can be manly, we look at the stars that wear their textured tresses best.

Matthew Morrison
"To me, this is an early Justin Timberlake look and feels quite dated. I like the squareness, the shine and the way the curls are cut to suit the hair, but to bring the style up to date I would do one of two things: take the style shorter and put in some stronger lines, or grow the hair out and go for a more indie look with a lot of texture. Men have been straightening their hair for a long time so it's nice that we are now seeing a lot of styles that can complement the natural curl."
Diana Carson, Rainbow Room International, Uddingston, South Lanarkshire
Corbin Bleu
"Corbin's hair has a great loose, natural curl, but I would have worked with a stronger, squarer shape through the sides while keeping a softer, round feel on top to give it a playful and wearable edge. It's great to see more guys wearing their natural curls and trying out new shapes and styles, especially when it comes to textured hair."
Ashley Vanderpuye, Brooks & Brooks Hairdressing, London
Michael Sheen
"He's renowned for immersing himself into the characters he is playing, so Michael's latest look could well be the requirement of an acting role. That said, I think this grown-out, textured look works well for his intellectual thespian persona and his natural brunette shade is just right, but he should definitely have those greys blended away and sort out his facial grooming. The messy beard and neck hairs detract from the shape of the haircut and make his head shape almost spherical."
Leah Walton, The Colour Room, Stockport
Liam Payne
"Liam is young and handsome, so ultimately can carry off lots of styles, especially as his hair is thick and healthy. Although, he could benefit from more texture and possibly less length through the sides, with a little more product to emphasize the layers and enhance his curls."
Linzi Picton, Ken Picton Hair, Cardiff
