Team HJ Discusses the Hottest Hair Looks from the Met Gala 2023
Charlotte, Editor - Whitney Peak
Whitney Peak's high-shine, finger waves were chef's kiss! Created by NAEEMAH LAFOND, the hair look was the right side of vintage glamour (ie. not fancy dress) and off set the actor's 20s-inspired gown. You can see the style in action here.Sian, Deputy Editor - Ariana DeBose
When it comes to hair, Araxi Lindsey did the thing for Ariana DeBose at this year’s Met Gala. I love this show-stopping look, which Araxi says was inspired by ‘Cultural Greatness’. The white ombre cornrow braids were a unique take on this year’s theme, and it was great to see monochrome celebrated through the medium of hair. I also love the nod to Ariana’s heritage with the iconic Josephine Baker finger waves.Josie, Editorial Assistant - Quannah Chasinghorse
Model and Activist Quannah Chasinghorse stood out in a sea of black and white while wearing an intricate pink Prabal Gurung gown. However, while her dress was sure to garner attention, the model’s trademark long locks stole the show. Global Brand Ambassador for Paul Mitchell, her hair was styled by Paul Mitchell Artistic Director Paula Peralta. Featuring a deep side parting with soft waves, the look was completed with the addition of two face-framing braids and carefully placed Indigenous feathers. I love that Quannah's Met Gala look stayed true to her style - and the shine on her hair was second to none.
