Team affinage walk 13 hours for the hairdressers' charity A 14-strong team, comprised of the Affinage head office and Salon Supplies staff, took on a walk of 22 miles and raised a predicted £1500 in the process. The 13 hour trek covered the stunning Dorset coastal path, starting at Corfe Castle and ending at Sandbanks in Poole, taking in incredible countryside along the way including the Studland Nature Reserve. The challenge was taken on in temperatures of up to 30 degrees, one of the hottest days of the year. Philip Sharp, Affinage & ASP Brand Director, said: "It was a brutal but beautiful walk. The coastline was stunning and the team spirit was phenomenal. This was our hardest challenge yet with the heat, but I am so proud that we have raised funds for those less fortunate". The charity in question, The Hairdresser's Charity, is dedicated solely to helping hairdressing professionals and ex-hairdressers in their hour of need. The proceedings go towards helpful causes such as regular quarterly payments to those struggling through unseen circumstances, training and equipment to help people learn new skills and clothing allowances or Christmas/birthday presents for less fortunate under 16's. Philip Sharp, also the President of the charity, said: "The Hairdressers’ Charity is a cause very close to all of our hearts and we were all delighted to have completed the challenge whilst helping others". You can support the team's efforts and donate to the fund on their Justgiving site.
