Wella Professionals present XPOSURE 2011; the leading nationwide hairdressing competition for students.
Forget Britain's Next Top Model - the hunt is on for Britain's next top college hairdresser. XPOSURE, now in its second year, offers hairdressing students nationwide the opportunity to compete in an inter-college challenge
Ideal for those looking to take their first step on the competition ladder, XPOSURE promises to celebrate imagination, creativity, and talent amongst young hairdressers. It's the ideal springboard for any college student, with winners receiving great exposure within the industry.
Top prizes include £1,000 of Wella Professionals training vouchers, a £500 tool kit, a chance to work with a top hairdresser for the day, and educational support for a year.
The Francesco Group's Director of Hairdressing, Anya Dellicompagni is fronting the campaign, and says: "I am thrilled to be a part of this fantastic campaign. I believe that encouraging young people to showcase their skills at this age will ultimately help instil the passion and motivation which they will need to reach their full potential in the competitive hairdressing industry".
How to Enter
- Interested colleges should call the Wella Professionals XPOSURE Hotline on 01256 490806 today to register for an information pack.
- Colleges will then need to hold an individual competition amongst students.
- Send in a photographic entry of the top five candidates by Friday 11 February 2011.
- These entries will be judged by Wella Professionals, with 80 finalists then invited to one of four regional heats.
- From the regional heats, the top five entries will go through to the final, which will take place on Thursday 9 June 2011 at the Wella Professionals London Studio.
Rules and regulations
- Participants must be under 25 years old
- Participants must be attending a hairdressing course at a College of Further Education for the entire duration of the competition, and must be studying for NVQ Level 2 or 3.
Dates and Deadlines
Stage 1: Photographic
Each student must create a commercial cut and colour. They will be judged on their total look.
- Deadline - Friday 11 February 2011
Stage 2: Regional Heats
Entrants have one hour to style hair and create a total look. At this stage, all technical cutting, clothes styling and make-up may be pre-done. Models will then take part in a catwalk show
- Wednesday 23 March: South Lanarkshire College, Glasgow
- Thursday 24 March: Wella Professionals Studio, Manchester
- Wednesday 30 March: Walsall College, Walsall
- Thursday 31 March: Wella Professionals World Studio London
Stage 3: The Final
20 finalists will battle it out at the Wella Professionals World Studio in London for the title of Wella Professionals XPOSURE Winner 2011.
