Which is the Right Hair Processor for You?

Not all hair processors are the same so learn more about Takara Belmont’s hair processors and see which one can help you achieve the ultimate haircare experience and results.

What Is A Hair Processor?

Hair processors are essential multi-functional tools that enhance haircare experiences and improve outcomes across a range of technical services including hair colouring, conditioning treatments, scalp care and other chemical processes, such as perms and waves. Processors work by opening the hairs’ cuticle layers, and pores on the scalp, to infuse colour pigments and vital treatment ingredients deep into the hair and scalp more effectively. This increased absorption results in richer, more vibrant and enduring colour with improved condition and shine, more defined curls and waves, and a cleaner, healthier scalp. Processors achieve longer-lasting outcomes more quickly, but not all hair processors are the same.

Not all hair processors are the same…STEAM vs MIST

Traditionally, processors have used steam to open hair cuticles, but steam is generated using very hot water. This not only causes potential damage to the integrity of the hair and scalp, it also introduces water moisture that dilutes treatment ingredients and chemicals to degrade their potency and effect.

As a world-leading equipment manufacturer for over a Century, Takara Belmont has led the way by introducing alternative processing technologies that generate a super-fine ‘dry mist’ at very low temperatures. As a result, hair colour, treatments and perms and waves are even more effective, safer and all together more pleasurable for the client.

Katie Fielder, National Sales Manager at Takara Belmont (UK) comments: “Our Spa Mist II and Micro Mist processors utilise ultrasonic technology to generate an ultra-fine microscopic mist at very low temperatures. This brings a calming, warming and atmospheric dimension to every treatment while ensuring that ingredients penetrate deep into the hair and scalp without excessive heat or dilution. After colour pigments and treatments have been infused, a cool-shot function closes the cuticle layers and pores to lock them in. This results in more vibrant, durable colour, better treatment outcomes and more effective scalp care.”

With Micro Mist focussed solely on hair colouring and conditioning treatments, Spa Mist II benefits from the addition of a dedicated scalp care program, which is scientifically proven to improve the health and condition of the scalp. “This feature creates the ultimate foundation for healthy hair growth,” says Katie. “By opening up pores on the scalp, Spa Mist II removes debris and build-up, and it unclogs pores to deep clean the scalp and solve many common issues such as redness, itching and flaking. Many salons also report positive signs of increased volume and hair regrowth in clients with frail or thinning hair.”

Roller Ball F - Revolutionary Colour Technology

While Micro Mist and Spa Mist II improve outcomes for colour, chemical processes and scalp care, Roller Ball F brought transformative technology to the global hair colouring market with its unique carbon heating element and rotating infrared ring. First introduced in 1989, Roller Ball F revolutionised colour services by reducing processing time by up to 75%, as Katie explains: “Roller Ball F meant that salons could accelerate processing time, fit more clients in during the day and enhance results. Many of the industry’s most iconic colourists, such as Daniel Galvin, Trevor Sorbie and Russell Eaton trust in Roller Ball F’s efficiency and results, along with salons across the world. Roller Ball F is the latest evolution of this groundbreaking technology, which is energy efficient and continues to deliver awe-inspiring results. Salons of all sizes can easily incorporate Roller Ball F into their salon menu to enhance their colour reputation.”

Convenient and Results Driven for All Hair Types

Bringing convenience to every salon, Spa Mist II and Micro Mist are compact and mobile, while Roller Ball F comes in a free-standing mobile or wall-mounted version. “Salons can easily move each processor into position, which means a single unit can serve multiple stations, while Roller Ball F’s wall-mounted version assumes a fixed position to maximise floor space,” adds Katie. “Plus, these processors are very effective on curly and afro hair, as they prevent saturation of the hair, which is associated with more traditional steam processors.”
