Updos are always a runway favourite for Winter - providing an opportunity to really show off all those elegant scarves and elaborate coat collars. Unlike stiff, retro styles which we've seen in the past, this season's hair should be left a little undone, for a fun, non-fussy finish. At Fendi, looped quiffs were left to flop over one eye in a rough bow shape - it's young, it's cool, and it can be customised to make it your own.

Valerie Benavides from Brooks & Brooks, London, was on the art team for the show, and explains: "It was all about having loose, soft texture, so when the models walked down the catwalk, you could see lots of soft, baby hair floating in juxtaposed with their strong walk. It's cool because it's playful with an unkempt, seductive finish."

Forget about immaculate updos - incorporate the texture trend, for a relaxed, youthful feel. "The look is easy to achieve," continues Valerie. "Section the hair from the top of one ear, across to the other ear. Put the back section into a high ponytail on the top of the head, and tie so that it falls forward. Now twist and shape incorporating the remaining hair at the front, and the ponytail. Pin and grip in place, and pullout sections to create softness."
