The queen of reinvention, although Kate very rarely strays further from her trademark honey-blonde locks, she knows the drastic difference a blunt fringe or well-timed trim can make.

With a penchant for Bardot-esque styling and a knack for making unkempt cool, we asked Nathan Walker, International Technical Director, Trevor Sorbie, to talk us through some of her best looks.

Kate rocked a pixie crop back in her 90s heyday, and although she carries of the short style well, it's not a look she's revisited since.

"This is one of my favourite Kate looks," says Nathan. "I love this gamine cut, her face looks great and the look exudes so much confidence."

"The length of this cut was also a big departure from the long hair usually worn by models at the time, and Kate made sure she was still one step ahead of the rest."

Kate was one of the reigning style icons in the grunge-glam movement.

Bare-faced with just a slash of red lipstick, this effortless style defined an era.

This natural look appears effortless; a style which Kate has carried off ever since, through her boho days, right up to her life as as yummy mummy.

Nathan says: "Here the hair looks simple and nude; the outfit demands that the hair shouldn't distract from the simple lines."

"Everyone with longer hair wishes they looked this good with such little effort!"

A lash-tickling fringe and shoulder-skimming lengths add up to yet another effortlessly sexy look.

The tuxedo jacket demonstrates further proof of Kate's effortless way with fashion, too.

"Here the longest of bobs looks great on Kate," says Nathan.

"Worn with ease, this hairstyle is updated with a textured fringe that opens the face and lifts the eyes."

Kate revisits her hair icon Brigitte Bardot here, with a simple, volumised updo.

Dirty roots and an 'unfinished' finish, transform this soft beehive from primped and preppy to catwalk cool.

"The pushed aside fringe with a quick hair up is worn by millions of women every day," explains Nathan. "And here Kate makes this daytime look perfectly evening."

"The fact the hair still looks soft and the parting is voluminous makes sure the look remains feminine and totally modern."

This sexy tousled look works with Kate's smoky eyes and little black dress perfectly.

Proving that dark roots don't have to look unkept, the Croydon-born supermodel makes grungy colour a statement.

"Kate demonstrates here that volume blow-dries don't have to look dated," says Nathan.

"The casual, undone-ness of the look makes it really appealing, leaving every woman wishing they had her hair - or at least her hairdresser!"

Kate unveiled her latest look at the launch of her final Topshop range.

Although the supermodel claimed to have cut the fringe herself - with kitchen scissors - it has been applauded as another wining look for Kate.

Nathan says: "Kate is setting the trend yet again with a full fringe for the A/W season. This, coupled with smooth bodyful hair creates a real sophisticated feel."

"The length of the fringe is perfect for an amazing amount of sultry feminine sex appeal. The movement through the ends, and graduation through the sides add softness to balance the fact that heavier fringes can be hard on some face shapes."

"Her new look flatters both her face and the trends and shapes and clothing this season."
