Step by step: a brighter blonde with larisa love

Despite summer quickly slipping away from us in the UK, the requests for bright, beachy blondes is year-round. Here, super colourist Larisa Love created a healthy sunkissed blonde using Joico. I prepped my model’s hair with Joico Defy Damage ProSeries 1, spraying in short bursts throughout the head to protect the hair and keep it healthy, shiny and strong. Start by dividing the hair using my ‘arrowhead’ technique to create this gorgeous face framing dimensional balayage using FreePlay Clay Lightener. I use what I call the ‘hairgami’ technique, which means I fold the foils in a certain way to save on application time. I section out the back of the head in a moon shape, section in slices and then weave out highlights. I fold the foil into a moon shape to save time and leave to develop for 30 minutes. Create a gloss with LumiShine Demi- Permanent Liquid 10NW + 5 Volume LumiShine Developer. Rinse and towel dry. Apply Defy Damage ProSeries 2 Bond Strengthening Color Treatment. Leave on for five minutes, rinse and towel dry. Tone the hair with the new Blonde Life Quick Toners in Silver, Sand and Clear, which tone in five minutes. I left the toner on for three minutes and her colour was perfect. Rinse and use Defy Damage Shampoo and Conditioner before styling the hair into your desired look.
