Start-up guides for salons launched by nhf Start-Up Guides for Salons Launched by NHFThe NHF has published a series of start-up guides for salons to help hairdressing, barbering and beauty entrepreneurs take the plunge and launch their own business. With government statistics suggesting that as many as 20% of start-ups fail within their first year and half fail within three years, the National Hairdressers Federation has recognized the need for better guidance about what it takes to plan for and run a successful business. Each of the guides is free to download from the NHF website and contains practical tips and advice on how to get started with your own salon, as well as how maintain a successful and profitable long-term business. NHF chief executive Hilary Hall said "The economy may be recovering but it is still tough on the high street, which makes it all the more important start-ups do their homework to maximise their chances of success. At the NHF we want to encourage businesses to do things properly right from the start. Being a great hairdresser, barber or beautician is not by itself a guarantee of success anymore. If you’re serious about going into business, these three guides outline the things you need to be thinking about and planning for well in advance. "The NHF also runs training programmes around the UK on how to make your salon more profitable, managing yourself and your team and delivering a consistently great client experience. Whether your business is new or has been running for years, it’s great to share ideas and top tips for success with expert trainers and other salon owners." Download you free guide here!
