The SS21 Haute Couture shows may have taken on a different format during lockdown in the form of smaller scale presentations, but the hair was every bit as beautiful as you’d expect from the couture shows.
Remarkably, couture has been selling well during lockdown, and you can bet that the couture houses’ clients can only dream of having the hair to match their looks.
Here, we take a look at some of the standout hair moments from the presentations.

Lead by Sam McKnight, the look at Fendi was ethereal with wet-look finger waves, topped with glittering glass hair accessories that emulated water droplets.
“The spirit of Bloomsbury, caught in a thunderstorm in the garden. Rain soaked hair bejewelled with Venetian glass hair combs by @delfinadelettrez”, said Sam on Instagram.

At Chanel, Damien Boissinot sent models down the runway with polished blunt bobs and neat, middle-parted low ponytails, punctuated with floral headpieces.

Odile Gilbert took the hair to towering heights in form of bouffant updos and exaggerated ponytails to match the volume of the taffeta and tulle.
Bridgerton hair certainly springs to mind. Satin bows and flowers completed the look.

Dior’s collection drew inspiration from 15
th century tarot cards, lending a mystical mood for the hair. Guido Palau crafted ornate braiding and updos complete with crystal headpieces to complete the regal looks.

Uber-long, effortless hair was the mood at Valentino’s show, which saw extensions and minimal styling.
“We talked a lot about androgyny and fluidity in beauty,” Guido told British Vogue of his inspiration behind the hair at Valentino. “The boys and girls were treated in a very similar manner – a boy had super long hair; and a girl did; a girl had a super
short haircut; and so did a boy. It was all about the fluidity of genderless hair.”
