Spargoland is a new charity venture from Ian Marshall, the man behind leading Essex salon Spargo Hairdressing. A collaboration with his client Nicki Rodriguez-Holmes, the mother of a four year-old boy with autism, Spargoland will be a custom-built salon designed to cater to clients with disabilities.
Ian has secured the site for the new venture, just behind his existing salon in Brentwood, and is currently seeking funding so that he can start work on the venture, with a planned opening date of November 2015.
The non-profit making Spargoland will be designed by a group of experts to meet the needs of its special clientele – from a sensory waiting area to independent booths that will offer clients privacy and make their visit as relaxing and calm as possible.
Said Ian: “There is a massive group of the population that we are not looking after – people who have as much right as anyone to feel a million dollars. The big dream is that every county in the UK can have their own Spargoland salon. I’ve had calls from as far afield as Australia asking about the idea and how they can open their own Spargoland.”
