Whether hair is long, short or somewhere or between, a deep side parting was one of the key trends at the Met Gala 2014. Here are some of our favourite takes on the trend...

Anne Hathaway continues to grow out her crop in style, pairing a side parting with a soft, sweeping faux fringe. If you want a masterclass in growing out short hair, Anne is surely it - and those earrings are the perfect accompaniment.

Beyonce kept her hair simple - all the better for showcasing that darkly romantic veil. Hair was worn in a side parting and sleeked back into a small bun at the nape, providing a base for her veil to be pinned to.

Claire Danes opted for a softer take on a side part, with textured tresses pinned back into a loose chignon and a faux fringe formed from the side parting, this style is a simple, romantic complement to her
pretty pink Oscar de la Renta gown.

Emmy Rossum allowed her
colourful Carolina Herrera gown to take centre stage, opting to sweep her black locks into a neat side-parted bun. The super high-shine finish adds polish to the look.

No one does sleek and side-parted like Kate Bosworth, whose paired-back take on beauty ensures she's always a red-carpet favourite. Her minimalist, elegant beauty look works perfectly with her
sophisticated Stella McCartney gown.

Kirsten Dunst combines retro styling with a 90s-inspired clean, simple finish for her red-carpet look. Minimal was order of the day on this occasion - if you're wearing
a dress with a Star Wars print, simple really is the best option.

Naomi Watts always keeps it simple and classic, and this barely-there hair 'do is a prime example. Much like Kirsten Dunst's Rodarte gown,
Naomi's Givenchy number really does speak for itself.
