The business event, led by The Fantastic Hairdresser Media, was based in Bloomsbury Ballroom in Holborn. The night was packed with learning sessions and awards.
The event was aimed to inspire salon professionals, salon owners and trainees alike. The event gathered together more than 300 delegates, as well as a line up of speakers, from inside and outside the industry.
Jamie Stevens, owner of award winning boutique style hair salons, commented: "It was a pleasure and honour to be asked by the amazing Alan Austin-Smith at The Fantastic Hairdresser and thank you for putting on such an inspiring and motivating event! It was a great day!"
The line up of speakers included current British Hairdresser of the Year, Sally Brooks, as well as Jamie Stevens, multiple award winner.The industry’s podcaster, Dom Lehane, and international TEDx speaker, Jules White also made an appearance on the stage.
The audience had the opportunity to learn from Vivienne Mackinder. The seven times North American Hairdresser of the year winner flew in from the States to be the headline speaker.
She also led two training days. Master Your Craft was in a look and learn style, while the second training day, Up Close & Personal, gave a hands-on opportunity for the one attending.
KH Hair in Arnold, one of the delegates at the event, won the trophy of Fantastic Salon of the Year. However, he also won the Fantastic Golden Ticket prize draw worth £10 000. The salon won:
- An in-salon training day with Alan Austin-Smith, international educator and author of the bestseller ‘The Fantastic Hairdresser’.
- A day assisting and learning from Sally Brooks, current British Hairdresser of the Year and creator of the critically acclaimed film ‘The Journey to my Destination’.
- A day assisting Sophia Hilton, international educator and owners Not Another Salon and Not Another Academy.
- A ‘behind the scenes’ photoshoot experience with Desmond Murray, member of the Hall of Fame and photographer for most BHA finalists nowadays.
- A magnum of Champagne.
