Schwarzkopf professional young artistic team for 2022 revealed Schwarzkopf Professional is proud to reveal its Young Artistic Team for 2022. Now in its 26th year, the Schwarzkopf Professional Young Artistic Team brings together some of the most exciting emerging hairdressing talents from all over the UK and Ireland.

The Young Artistic Team for 2022

What does the programme entail?

The team will experience a year-long mentoring programme, offering training, education and incredible industry opportunities, designed to nurture and develop the stars of the future. Open to stylists under the age of 26 who work for a Schwarzkopf Professional salon, this year’s line-up was revealed at the finals at London’s Hunter Collective on 23 January, when a shortlist of stylists competed for a place in the final six. The winners impressed judges including Nick Irwin, Ellie Bond, Debbie G and our very own editor Charlotte Grant-West, with their presentation skills, attention to detail and obvious passion for their craft. The team’s first day together took place just over a week later on 7 February, at the penthouse studio owned by legendary photographer, Rankin. Hosted by a new YAT team mentor (and Rankin’s long-time collaborator) Nick Irwin, the day was the chance for the stylists to get to know each other – and to discover more about the journey that lies ahead of them. “We have six young, diverse and passionate individuals who are itching to get started!” said Nick. “For me, it’s as much about the experience as it is what we teach them throughout the year. Holding our intro day at Rankin’s penthouse gave them the chance to experience my world as much as possible so we can create not just career, but life-changing moments.”

Hearing from the team...

Caitlin Trenholme from Salon 3, Isle of Man said: “This opportunity means everything – it was the next step I was looking for in my career. Making the team has given me that spark and inner confidence to progress my hairdressing further.” [caption id="attachment_85946" align="aligncenter" width="300"]Schwarzkopf Professional Young Artistic The Young Artistic Team and the judges[/caption] “The first day was an amazing experience, just taking in the reality of it,” said Max Andrea from Claxton Hair, Rossendale. “It was great getting to know the others a bit better and getting to know the Schwarzkopf team too! Rankin’s space was lovely and made the experience even better, it was the perfect place for it.” Rebecca Watkins, from Tweedie & Marshall Hairdressing in Falkirk, said: “I have been a fan of Rankin’s work for a while now and it’s so surreal to me that we were there at Rankin Studios. In addition to hairdressing, I have a huge passion for photography, and I was in awe of the place! To me, it is the perfect place to learn and be creative, as you are surrounded by incredible people and artwork everywhere you look.” “The first day was like a dream, just being in Rankin studios was unbelievable,” said Zack Hammond from Hooker & Young, Newcastle. “All the guys are great and I’m looking forward to getting started with them.” Edinburgh-based November Collective’s Rhys Chiwara said: “Everyone’s so kind and eager to learn and I can’t wait to see how we grow, both as a team and as individuals, over the year.” “The year ahead feels like a dream,” said Mark Hammond from Farah Naz Hairdressing, Manchester. “Nick is going to be a great mentor and I can’t wait to pick his brain for inspiration and education as much as I can!” [caption id="attachment_85947" align="aligncenter" width="300"]Schwarzkopf Professional Young Artistic Schwarzkopf Professional Young Artistic Team for 2022[/caption]
