And in a program that's as much as about glitz and glamour as it is talent, hair is high on the list of priorities for uber-groomed contestants including actresses Jennifer Ellison and Jorgie Porter and Sugababe Heidi Range.

The show's hair designer Paul Haskell has to create style up to eight hours before the show begins, making styling the skaters a real challenge.

Paul says: "Every routine has a different feel depending on the music and costume, so there's no such thing as a key look. Styles will range from 1920s-inspired glamour to modern trends, combining natural finishes with the more avant-garde."
