Schwarzkopf professional launches essential looks collection The renowned Grade II listed Art Deco Troxy theatre in London's Limehouse saw more than 1,000 hairdressers from across Europe party into the early hours at the Schwarzkopf Professional European Essential Looks show. As well as showcasing the latest trends, the international audience from as far afield as Finland, Spain and Portugal, were treated to stunning shows featuring commercial, colourful and creative work. Welcomed by UK general manager Stuart Hamid and international creative director Simon Ellis, dancing girls opened the show. The UK’s own Gary Hooker and Michael Young from Hooker & Young, Newcastle, presented first with their Made in England presentation, taking inspiration from their 2016 British Hairdresser of the Year nominee collection. Models channeled 1970s vibe curls, while beautiful curls and directional cuts sat together in this energetic show, which had a few surprises to the delight of the audience. Next up was LA-based colourist to the stars, Kim Vo, who worked his magic using Blondme for a series of beautiful blondee. Known as Hollywood’s best blonder, he talked about the techniques he was using on his celebrity clientele, including lacing, a modern-day ombre for a natural finish. Bundy Bundy from Austria wowed with their Greek Goddess-inspired avant-garde work in their Power of the Blondes presentation. Creators of the pixelated colour trends, Spanish educators X-Presion Creatives showcased how easy the trend is to create on different lengths of hair, before simply transforming hair with a needle and thread. A fabulous finale saw models from this seaon’s Essential Looks collection. Session stylist Tyler Johnston and colour supremo Lesley Jennison presented Beat Icon, with 1960s-inspired street style, Opulence with looks from the French Riviera and Colorama, a combination of pops of colour, hair cuts and the art of styling.
