Sam McKnight was the latest session stylist to bring the bowl cut to the catwalk, in the form of a host of Beatles-esque mop-tops at the Fendi Spring/Summer 2014 show.
Each model walked out in a matching black bowl cut wig, which Sam explained weren't designed to look natural at all. "I didn't want to kid people into thinking this was real hair," he explained to Style.com
Inspired by 80s Linda Evangelista with a hint of Japanese influence and, yes, a Beatles reference, the wigs were razor-cut to suit each girl once on and finished with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray to create a fluffy finish.
This wasn't the first wiggy moment of the season - in London we saw the TONI&GUY team create 20s sci-fi heroines at
Krystof Strozyna with dressed-out bob wigs in a monochrome palette of blonde and brunette.
"They're intentionally wiggy," said Pinar Necati, who was responsible for the look. "We trimmed them to shape when they were on the girls," she added. "With fringes cut to just below the eyebrow and a neat, head-hugging shape at the back where hair would naturally sit, but we still wanted to maintain that fake, sci-fi feel."

Cementing the bowl cut as this season's surprise hit, we also saw the look at the Marc Jacobs show in New York; a show where trends for the season are traditionally born.
Guido Palau was the brains behind the bowl, where inspiration came from LA surfers and skate kids who cut their own hair. In keeping with the theme, Guido took scissors and razors to wigs, which had been pre-dyed by Victoria Hunter at Whittemore House Salon in New York.
Texture was added through Redken Forceful 23 Super Strength Finishing Spray, for a grungy take on the geekiest of cuts.
With more of Milan and all of Paris to go, we're on wig watch and eagerly anticipating more beautiful bowl cuts...
