Well, I’m one day in to my third Salon International and, although exhausted – I’m having a ball. There’s such a buzz about this show – more than any trade show I’ve ever attended – and I’ve been to a lot of trade exhibitions during my career in journalism! One of the highlights so far has to be the Live Show by Sassoon Professional. The hair was beautiful and the fashion was a stunning mix of sophisticated glamour and cool – although I don’t think I’ll be adopting the tutu and no top look sported by two of the male models. I could probably carry off the tutu, but I don’t do topless!
I was also entertained and motivated by the Salon Business Live seminar by business coach Peter Lunn. Even though the content was aimed at hairdressers, Peter’s boundless energy and obvious passion for education rubbed off on me and I left with a desperate urge to start my own salon business. I’ve decided to stick to journalism for a bit longer though.
Last night I was lucky enough to attend the UK final of Wella Trend Vision, which was also an uplifting experience. Tonight I’m off to the Goldwell Rockmantic party – which sounds like a good night out to me! I shall blog tomorrow with a full update.
