Salon live - an inspirational experience
Salon Live offer an inspirational insight into the creative thinking and direction of some of the biggest names in hairdressing, plus an introduction to the next generation of hairdressing talent.
Sassoon Academy
Sassoon Academy promises to take visitors to its Salon Live Show on a creative journey of 2010, showcasing excerpts from its autumn/winter Stage collection, and its luxurious Mid-Season Deco Deluxe collection. The team will also launch its new collection for spring/summer 2011. The presentation will include the complete repertoire of ideas and inspirations behind these collections, with insightful demonstrations.
International creative director Mark Hayes says: "For our show this year, we will be playing with the Sassoon house codes of pure geometry and sharing the details of our work, which will give fresh inspiration and new, creative perspectives".
Paul Mitchell presents Robert Cromeans
"It's not about being remembered - it's about never being forgotten," says Robert Cromeans, which gives some idea of the spectacular show he will be putting on for Salon Live.
For 2010, Robert, who is Paul Mitchell's global artistic director, will be joined by his creative team, featuring Takashi Kitamura and artistic director Stephanie Kocielski.
Robert, who has been voted Platform Artist of the Year a record seven times by the Professional Beauty Association, promises to take his audience on a "style discovery to the very heart of the art, business and culture that runs through the veins of the Paul Mitchell brand".
TIGI Inspirational Youth
TIGI Inspirational Youth is recognised as one of the most exciting training programmes for young hairdressers. Each year, Nick Irwin, TIGI's European creative director, selects the TIGI Inspirational Youth team from salons across the UK - and, for 2010, also Germany. International expansion has seen this year's team grow to 20 youngsters.
Over a six-month period, TIGI Inspirational Youth team members receive broad training that encompasses not only cutting, styling and colouring skills, but photographic work, presentation, trend spotting and team building. So expect some strong competition and artistic excitement.
Toni & Guy
Toni & Guy will present the worldwide exclusive launch of its new educational collection, Project 10, in what it promises will be a dynamic, not-to-be-missed experience. The show offers the chance to see the award-winning Toni & Guy artistic team on stage, taking you through all the collection details, from innovative step-by-step techniques to the inspirations behind their fashion-focused creations. Toni & Guy was the official haircare sponsor to London Fashion Week, and for its Live Show, the session team will recreate highlights from the catwalk presentations of some of the UK's most celebrated designers. This, plus a selection of avant-garde work, will make the Toni & Guy Salon Live show a must-see event.
Future Creatives by Sassoon AcademyThe Future Creatives seminar from Sassoon Academy is designed to give students a unique insight into the inspiring world of Sassoon.
The show offers the audience the chance to watch, listen and learn from the next-generation Sassoon international creative team. Described by Sassoon Academy as youthful, enthusiastic and talented, the team will share its distinctive take on the future of hair. Sassoon Academy promises to present the vibrant language of hair with passion, commitment and originality.
Tim Hartley
The future of hairdressing is all about defining the language of experimentation, and that is a language Tim Hartley speaks fluently. Drawing references from the irreverent post-punk New York music and art scene and mixing it up with inspired silhouettes from fashion designer Phoebe Philo's definitive second collection for Celine, Tim has crafted work that is all about contrast and contradiction. Other inspirations on the Salon Live stage will include Patti Smith, the poster child for the super-feminine tomboy that embraces mannish crops, tousled sexy texture, monochromatic tones and simple graphic shapes, all shot through with bold neon accents.
