TIGI will be presenting two shows at Salon International 2012, from TIGI Inspirational Youth and the TIGI International Creative Team.
TIGI International Creative Team
The work of the TIGI International Creative Team is about progression. It's about keeping the art of hairdressing fresh, dynamic and alive. It's about balancing expression and invention with the skills and the precise technical understanding that set creativity free.
Any show created by the TIGI International Creative Team is exciting, innovative and relevant to the audience. The ethos is to share the very latest ideas, to inspire every person in the audience and to communicate information that can be utilised in the salon pushing the artistry of hairdressing.
As well as seeing 'close-up' the latest TIGI creative cut and colour collection, TIGI Global Creative Director, Nick Irwin and the TIGI Session Team will show ideas straight from the international catwalks that can be translated into commercial salon work. Pushing creativity to the next level the new TIGI Couture Hair Collection, an important element of TIGI's work, gives an insight into the development of the craft into a true art form, designed to inspire and entertain.

TIGI Inspirational Youth - Hair leads the fashion
TIGI Inspirational Youth takes education to a new level, delivering the next generation of hairdressing stars.
The mentor programme, TIGI Inspirational Youth, is always a popular show on the final day of Salon International. Inspiring every young hairdresser in the audience, the TIGI Inspirational Youth Team are taken on a journey of hairdressing discovery over the course of a year that they regularly describe as "life-changing". The resulting high-energy presentation showcases their achievements.
Guided by TIGI Global Creative Director, Nick Irwin, and other senior members of the TIGI Creative Team, the training process covers a broad aspect of creative instruction taking the craft of hairdressing into the realms of art. This includes classic and advanced cutting and styling, session styling, presentation skills, art appreciation, model casting, photographic techniques and working to camera, as well as exposing the team to leaders in the world of fashion.
The 2012 show promises to be very special. This year TIGI Inspirational Youth have teamed up with a group of young fashion graduates from the London College of Fashion. For the last six months the Inspirational Youth Team members have been working with their own fashion designer to create a unique fashion look, with hair as the starting point and the inspiration.
The collaboration has turned the usual way of working with fashion designers; "on its head" showing the power of hair in leading and making trends. The result can be seen in "TIGI Inspirational Youth - Hair leads the fashion."
