Nationwide salon group Saks have opened a new hair and beauty salon in Leeds in a post-lockdown transformation.
Salon owner Natalie Jenkins decided to convert her salon, previously known as Millie’s Beauty, to Saks, making it a go-to for all thing’s hair and beauty in Leeds. The West Yorkshire salon is the brand’s second salon to open in the last year after Saks Hair Newark launched in 2020.
Natalie decided to join the Saks team after seeing an advert on social media, she explained: “I’d seen a post on by Saks social media asking owners to get in touch if they were feeling the pain [of lockdown] and wanted to explore a new direction. I was curious so I reached out and it’s been an exciting whirlwind ever since. We have strong hair and beauty teams – the training is excellent – and I’ve created new jobs in Leeds at a difficult time. I’m very proud - and our customers are loving the new experience!”
After 47 years of Saks, this new salon epitomises the brand’s ethos, look and feel with a modern twist for the boutique-style salon. The hair team have had expert training with Saks’ creative director Luke Pluckrose and various Saks Artists, while the salon has been personalised with Saks’ staple interior and finishing touches.
Saks has a national charity partnership with The Eve Appeal, raising funds for gynaecological cancers, with 180k raised so far. The new Saks Leeds team are keen to get involved with this, with a Make Time for Tea event coming up in September.
“Natalie and her team have embraced the plans and it’s been heart-warming to see how our existing franchisees have welcomed them to our close-knit network,” said Jezz Ellis, Senior Operations Manager at Saks HQ.
With a central location and an excited team, Saks Leeds City is only at the beginning of its post-pandemic new direction.
