Saks art team goes bigger and better for 2016

Saks is thrilled to announce exciting new plans for its Art Team for 2016 and beyond. The Saks Art Team delivers outstanding education and also works hair magic at shoots, shows and events from its London base at Long Lane, Smithfield. Existing team members Luke Pluckrose, Tom Berry and Katy Adamson are respected industry educators who also travel the world teaching Saks’ philosophies and techniques. Luke Pluckrose, newly appointed Creative Director and Head of Saks Art Team, says: “To strengthen our team we’ve handpicked the best creatives in our UK network of salons who are also keen on becoming ambassadors for Saks at big events, and mentoring our network of stylists and others too. I’m pleased to officially welcome Paul Calledine, James Maher, Clare Murphy and Shaun Stringfellow to the team. It’s a really exciting time for us. Watch this space.” WELCOMING NEW ART TEAM MEMBERS: PAUL CALLADINE - owner of Saks Doncaster A highly creative individual Paul’s been in the hairdressing industry for 14 years and is a passionate believer in motivating his hair team with ongoing Art Team education. Paul was L'Oréal Colour Trophy winner in 2013 and has also won Saks Image Awards and been featured in Vogue UK. Already a regular backstage he’s also represented the brand teaching what makes Saks special overseas. JAMES MAHER - owner of Saks Kenilworth Having forged a glitzy career with other well-known hair brands James chose to open his own Saks salon in 2013 saying: “I chose the brand that’s stood the test of time – with a heritage of over 40 years creating beautiful hair. It’s great that I now have it all, owning my salon and also raising Saks’ profile by adding the wow-factor.” Previously: Stylist on Britain’s Next Top Model and X Factor, LFW, shoots for Vogue, Tatler, Elle UK, styling celebs including Sophie Dahl, Liz Hurley, Kelly Brook and more. CLARE MURPHY – educator at Saks Training London No stranger to Saks Art Team, Clare’s been educating for over 15 years whilst also session styling at an array of big events, shoots and for TV. Claire says: “Having worked alongside Luke and Tom for years delivering education I’m over the moon to join the Art Team. It’s the natural progression for me - a great honour and I’m also looking forward to representing Saks creatively.” SHAUN STRINGFELLOW – senior stylist at Saks Middlesbrough Starting his career at Saks 10 years ago Shaun’s now a Kérastase Ambassador and says: “Being part of the A-TEAM programme opened my mind to avant garde hair. Spending time with Luke and Tom made me realise my creative potential. I’ve worked on LFW, the BRITS and The Clothes Show and I’ve created a hair collection from look book to photoshoot. I love being in salon and Saks Art Team now takes my career to another level.” Luke Pluckrose heads up the Saks team as Official Hair Partner at the ALCATEL ONETOUCH Fashion Theatre at The Clothes Show 2015 4-8 December.
