Roll on february's bumper month for the andrew barton salon
What a wonderful month December was, the salon was heaving and being our first Christmas the team were on fire with excitement looking after so many clients.
Were now into our 3rd month of being open and I can't believe how quickly that as flown by. But like most salon businesses January comes as such a disappointment when client numbers are less and generally people watching the spending after the Christmas splurge.
February is already looking like it will be a bumper month for us with lots of advance bookings and an array of client events happening at the salon including a makeup presentation by Shu Uemura.
Being in the centre of such a fashion hub (Covent Garden) we have made friends with the local business in the area where we work together to keep our clients informed. We've just completed a series of fashion events for Karen Millen as well as Paul Smith where the Andrew Barton Creative Team present all the key hair trends for the season ahead.
Christmas time was a time for me to take a break after all the hectic last 6 months and a good time for me to reflect and plan for the months ahead. I've got to say I'm not a fan of the English winter and the sun in Thailand was so welcoming. But you can't go anywhere with out bumping into people you know. A photographer friend of mine from Denmark, Henrik, was also staying at the hotel by coincidence.
This week I paid a heart-wrenching visit to The Great Ormond Street Hospital to see the work that the amazing people do there and it truly was emotive. You have probably heard of the fantastic new charity pioneered by John Frieda called HAIRraising, the concept is to get British hairdressers to support the charity and for the consumer to become aware of the hairdressers that do. Watch out for information in HJ and HJi.
Must dash clients to make happy, it's the best part of my job.
