Robert lobetta returns to sebastian professional

Published 24th Jul 2017
Robert Lobetta is returning to Sebastian Professional after an eight-year hiatus. So what can we expect when the two brands start working together? We caught up with Robert at his home in LA to find out So how does it feel to be back It’s early days but it feels like I’ve just had a sabbatical and have never really been away! During the time apart I have changed and so has Sebastian – we both have different opinions and viewpoints to when we last worked together, so it’s going to be interesting and exciting to see what happens! What will your role be? My job title is creative visionary director, and it can go in any direction I feel it needs to. I will be working on their product packaging, advertising campaigns, social media imagery and hair cutting techniques – I will give them guidance and ideas in whatever areas they want me. What exciting projects can we look forward to? My first project will be to get a team of people together and create as much as we can so there will be plenty of images and content for hairdressers and the international media. We will be creating work for magazines and websites, I’ll be taking photographs and styling hair which will be fun. I can use all my skills – from hairdressing to photography to film – to tell a story. I want to excite hairdressers of all ages, but especially young people. What has been the response to the partnership? I’ve been getting phone calls and emails from around the world from hairdressers, salons and the media. All I ask is that everyone is patient while we create new things – eventually there will be a movement forward which everyone can join. What message do you have for hairdressers who are excited about your return? We are asking our audience to come and join us on this new journey and adventure. I want to put them into the limelight, it’s not about me, I want to put new, emerging hairdressers in the spotlight. I’ve had my time; now it’s about mentoring young people and sharing the future of the industry.
