Richard ward junior of the year awards crown new talent Richard Ward Junior of the Year Awards Crown New Talent The Richard Ward Junior of the Year awards celebrated the next generation of talent, with the youngest members of the salon team competing to showcase their skills. All of the salon's juniors were invited to compete in the event, which took place at the Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa in Sloane Square. Each was tasked with presenting a model, with judging criteria taking into account creative and technical ability, ability to interpret seasonal trends and commerciality. Salon owners Hellen and Richard were joined by a judging panel of industry gurus, including Edward Hemmings from Alan D, Carl McCaffrey from Toni & Guy, Mark Creed from Philosophy and Gillian Pope from L'Oreal Professionnel. The team were tasked with naming the winner of the Technical Achievement Award, while the fiercely-competitive Junior of the Year Award was voted for in-house by salon team members. And the winners were... Technical Achievement: Rosie Austen Junior of the Year: Sophie Jennings Junior of the Year Runner-Up: Elettra Guggeri Richard commented: "The Richard Ward Junior of the Year competition is a fantastic event which celebrates the phenomenal emerging talent of our salon Juniors; the industry's future stars. The atmosphere was buzzing and really energetic throughout the night, and our competitors worked incredibly hard on their models to produce an absolutely exceptional standard of work. "Huge congratulations to our winners and to our entire Junior team, of whom we are incredibly proud and who continue to set the standard for Apprentices in the hairdressing industry.
