Judges and Winners 2016resize On Tuesday 19th January, award-winning salon Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa hosted their highly anticipated annual Junior of the Year Awards 2016. Judged by a panel of industry experts at the salon’s premises in Sloane Square, the Awards acknowledged the achievements of the talented Richard Ward Junior team and celebrated the salon’s rising stars. Richard and Hellen were joined by an expert panel including Fellowship for British Hairdressing colleagues Bruno Marc and Edward Hemmings, HJi's very own Mary Forester and Saloni Chotai from L’Oreal. The Awards saw competitors and their models put through their paces with judging criteria based on creative and technical ability, interpretation of seasonal trends and overall commercial appeal. There were two categories awarded on the night, the fiercely competitive Junior of the Year Award, voted for in-house by salon team members, and the Technical Achievement Award, judged by the panel of guest judges. The winners were:
TECHNICAL ACHIEVEMENT WINNER: Jasmine Hunsley JUNIOR OF THE YEAR RUNNERS UP: Ryan Hauxwell & Ike Brick JUNIOR OF THE YEAR WINNER: Sophie Jennings Richard said: ‘The Richard Ward Junior of the Year competition celebrates the phenomenal emerging talent of our salon Juniors, the industry’s future stars. The atmosphere was buzzing and really energetic throughout the night, and our competitors worked incredibly hard on their models to produce an exceptional standard of work. Huge congratulations to our winners and to our entire Junior team, of whom we are incredibly proud and who continue to set the standard for Apprentices in the hairdressing industry.’
