Lee-Stafford.jpgSian Winstone and Katie Macklin are celebrating after winning the Birmingham final of Redken Urban Talent competition in front of a sell-out crowd at the Birmingham NEC. Having already impressed with their moodboards, the finalists had to wow a panel of judges, including HJ's Ruth Hunsley, by showcasing a look that they had created with inspiration from the New York runways. All the stylists demonstrated creative individuality in realising their total look but the judges were won over by Sian, from Aesthetics salon in Solihull's on-trend crop with heavy fringe. The colourists expressed their passion for Redken’s Metallic Glam, focusing on shimmering titanium and chrome-injected reflections, but Katie from Wallace Hairdressing, Warwickshire. most caught the eye to be named the Colour Genius. There are further regional finals in Dublin, Manchester and Ascot before the grand finalists meet for the exciting climax at TRIBE08 in Battersea Park in September.
