Redken tribe rocks the runway

Redken TRIBE 2011 lived up to its 'Rock the Runway' billing with a tantalizing mixture of dazzling hair shows, the latest in fashion, and the hottest up-and-coming music acts.

R&B singer Terri Walker kicked off the show by hyping-up the Brixton Academy crowd for the night's first hair show - a digitally inspired 'Matrix' runway spectacular by Leo Bancroft.

Futuristic looks included an exaggerated blonde high ponytail, worn by a model whose head was encrusted with crystals, and a side swept candy-floss creations accented with shimmering silver clips.

Then the three NYC Hair Show winners were named as:

  • Style Innovator:  Jakata, Warrington

  • Male Expert: Destin Hair & Beauty, Redditch

  • Color Genius: Aesthetics, Solihull

Color-Genius.jpgThe evening climaxed with a show-stealing finale from Andrew Barton, which showcased four key trends from the A/W 2011 Runways - Androgynous, Dominatrix, Colour Blocking and Victoriana.

While the four trends each had their own distinct look and feel the over-riding theme was drama as Andrew sent models with over-sized quiffs, striking red wine and orange hues and head-pieces made of colourful perspex cylinders down the runway.
