Redken tribe 09 gets everyone dancing
Entertainment kicked off with a sensational gospel choir performing the Madonna classic 'Like a Prayer' with the audience singing along. Stafford's artistic team presented Pulp Fiction, inspired hair complete with beatnik dancing.
Celebrity stylist Nicky Clarke made an appearance to the delight of the crowd and the stars didn't stop coming as Stacy Broughton transformed hair live on stage and soul diva Kym Mazelle sang her hit 'Young Hearts Run Free.'
With spirits high, Alex Zane and Redken education manager Pauline Cairns, introduced videos and presentations from the Urban Talent finalists in front of the panel of esteemed judges including industry legend Annie Humphries and Redken artist and owner, Amanda Dicker.
Then, aerial acrobats performing above the crowd and a sensational hair show from Andrew Barton took place. The show featured bold, colourful wigs that were whipped off to reveal blonde crops, disco dancing and a shower of glitter petals falling from the ceiling.
The atmosphere was electric when the winners of the Urban Talent Competition were announced as:
- Style Innovator Winner 2009 - Aesthetics Hair Team from Solihull
- Male Expert Winner 2009 - Baa Baa Hair Team from Northampton
- Color Genius Winner 2009 - Lee Scolding Hairdressing from Solihull
The collection of stars, including Lee Stafford, finally took to the stage for a party-style finale as guests were left to dance into the small hours in the knowledge that proceeds raised from the night would go the Elton John AIDS trust.
