The 2011 Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles attracted a very dapper crowd of sophisticated male stars, groomed to perfection and trussed up in the finest tuxedos.
Proving that it's possible to look dapper and do your own thing, Russell Brand and American Idol star Adam Lambert both did the dark and interesting look. As two of Hollywood's biggest peacocks, it's no surprise that these two bucked the short and sharp trend.
Adam appears to have more product in his hair than he does on his face - and that's saying something. Russell meanwhile has had a bit of a trim, and although I'm not his biggest fan I do have to say that I prefer him with longer, wilder curls.

Keeping things a bit more classic, both Adam Levine and Drake stuck to simple, short styles. I think Adam looks best with his shorter sides, but Drake's winning smile means it's impossible not to love his short, rounded style.

Justin Bieber isn't the only teen heartthrob with an eyebrow-skimming bowl cut - Glee star Chord Overstreet is similarly lusciously locked with a long blonde layered look. Now that Justin has had a bit of a trim, I actually think Chord takes the prize for best bowl - the longer layers are much cooler.

Texture was key for both Matthew Morrison and Ricky Martin's looks. Short spiky texture and sleeker sides helped both chaps look cool and suitably chiselled. Ricky wins this one for me - Mr Schue looks just a bit too product-laden.

Finally, proving that creative clipper skills are in evidence in Hollywood, we have Glee's Mark Salling and Jersey Shore star Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino. Mark's trademark mohican seems a little off-centre so it's down to the Situation and his clipper art to nail this look - no surprise really, when we already know how many hours he spends in the salon!
