Assistants at Real Hair and Blo salons in Chelsea kicked off 2015 with the Blo Off competition, a blow-dry contest designed to showcase the skills they've learnt so far.
Competitors were each tasked with researching a designer whose work they were inspired by. They then had to create a moodboard to illustrate their research and, finally, create a hairstyle they felt reflected the designer on a model that tied in with the brand image.
Judging on the night were Real Hair's creative director and Schwarzkopf Professional international ambassador Andy Smith, global ambassador for Schwarzkopf Professional Lesley Jennison and Chanel Nott, Real Hair training director and fashion colourist.
The event winners from Blo were Lillie Strange in first place, Sian Roylance in second and Samuel Koroma in third. From Real, the winner was Sunil Banger, with Abbey Jarrole in second and Charlie McTigue in third.
Andy Smith comments: "The event was fantastic and inspiring and we saw some really great work. It’s important to get creative juices flowing within the teams so that stylists can get to grips with their individual styles and ideas."
