Rand rocket members' benefits club annual conference 2011
The Rand Rocket Members' Benefits Club Annual Conference 2011, marked the 13th time the hair and beauty products supplier had treated its most loyal distributors to a weekend of business and more than a little pleasure.
Business was first on the agenda, with managing director David Vickers welcoming delegates to Vilamoura, Portugal, on the first night. David presented a rundown of the year gone by and highlights of what could be expected from Rand Rocket during 2011.
"Just 24 of us attended this conference in 1999, and since then it has grown and grown," said David. "We are very grateful for all of the turnover you have given us. We have seen a 2.7-fold increase in turnover in scissor sales alone since 1998."
With scissors in mind, David introduced the new image for the Jaguar range - now branded Black, Gold, Silver and White rather than by the previous star system. He also revealed the new Diva and Vamp scissors - as featured in HJ - plus a range of new pastel shades and the special launch deals.
But, Rand Rocket is about more than just scissors these days; joining the Rand Rocket line-up in 2011 is the ETC Elite Stylist Dryer. Leading hairdresser Paul Falltrick extolled the virtues of its trendy design and powerful motor.
Also new to the Rand Rocket line-up this year is Global Keratin and the brand's founder Van Tibolli was on hand to talk about the success of the range in the UK and announce the launch of new products, including Moisturising shampoo and conditioner.
As always, Rand Rocket ensured there was as much play as work. Golfers were treated to some of the best courses in the world; a James Bond quiz proved a challenge even for ardent fans; and the weekend rounded off with a James Bond-themed gala dinner, complete with cocktails and a Casino.
With the foundations laid for future success, the next year is set to be anything but a gamble for Rand Rocket and its distributors.
