Purple salon decor isn't just an elegant option; it's an on-trend choice for 2014 too, thanks to Pantone announcing radiant orchid as its colour of the year.

If you're thinking of giving your salon a revamp in 2014, radiant orchid could be the perfect choice. Described by Pantone Colour Institute executive director, Leatrice Eiseman, as "an enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones", it's an ideal option for creating a serene, relaxing salon space.
Purple can be a bit much used floor-to-ceiling, so pair with white or wood for a more pared-back finish. Alternatively, look for coloured lighting to bathe your backwash in light, or add a flash of vibrancy across your reception desk.
