PROJECT: X spent the day training with top Avant-Garde stylist Robert Masciave. Members of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s PROJECT: X got the opportunity to step out of their comfort zone and get creative with Robert.
The team headed to his Metropolis salon in Kingston-upon-Thames, where Robert gave a masterclass on Avant-Garde styling, creative cutting, and style. Described as “captivating and jaw-dropping”, the members of PROJECT: X got to see some background to his collections, alongside some demos from Robert. With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, Robert aimed to take the team on a journey to push their inventive thoughts while showing them how he creates his extravagant looks.
PROJECT: X member Emma Simmons said: “Oh my word, what a day! Inside the mind of a genius... I was enthralled in the Avant-Garde demo and just love Robert’s approach to cutting hair, a truly inspiring day, I loved every bit of it.”
Described as “the ultimate hairdressing finishing school”, members of PROJECT: X have been working with top hairdressers and fellowship salons around the country this year. From precision cutting to Avant-Garde styling, this offers them a wide variety of experiences and tips to take back to the salon.
“I absolutely loved today. Getting an insight into the mind of Robert and how he works and processes his ideas was actually a bit mind-blowing but amazing! I loved the simplicity of his techniques to make extraordinary looks, nothing over complicated just beautiful hairdressing. Cannot wait to put some new skills into practice,” said team member Lee Shaw.
