Paul mitchell make the headlines in manchester
With over 500 stylists gathered together for the Paul Mitchell Make Headlines show, the new Media City in Salford provided the perfect backdrop for a day that was all about information and entertainment.
Workshops took place throughout they day, with hands-on learning for stylists as the Paul Mitchell Artistic Team guided them through the latest collections combining avant-garde and commercial looks.
In another room, managers and salon owners picked up business tips during a session that covered a range of topics from retail displays to advice on tapping into the increasing male market.
Once the workshops were over, the Lowry Theatre played host to an eclectic show with Salon Success Managing Director Simon Tickler and European Sales Manager Archie Reilly welcoming attendees from "Spain, Sweden, Ireland, Portugal, Poland, Denmark and the Netherlands" as well as the UK.
"This is a show about the Paul Mitchell business and culture, and how you can take that back to the salon," said Archie.
First up was an introduction to the Mitch range for men, with Global Platform Artist Stephanie Kocielski demonstrating a number of men's cuts and styles with the help of her team.
"Remember men are the most loyal clients," she advised the crowd, before leaving the male models on stage for a fun, flirty catwalk show.
Next there was a poignant moment with a video showing six 'real life' makeovers on women who had suffered hardships such as homelessness, before the upbeat mood was restored with demonstrations on women's cuts and colour.
There were plenty of imaginative stage displays - an ethereal ballet-like dance for the Awapuhi Wild Ginger range, and a wonderland-esque style close to the show with Stephanie talking the audience through some seriously big hairstyles.
Lastly, all the models and stylists were invited back onto the stage for a grand finale to a flamboyant, creative and inspiring show.
