Party season is the perfect time to encourage your clients to try something new with their hair, and with the CFDA Awards 2022 taking place recently, celebs have been serving updo inspiration in spades. Check out these alternative updos to help spice up your service menu this season. To help you nail the looks and decide what will work best for your clients, Alex Thaddeus-Campbell - KMS Style Ambassador - has shared her thoughts.

Kylie Jenner

Kylie has nailed the hair brief with this polished, 90s-inspired updo, complementing her vintage Mugler gown whilst adding a modern twist. Using the right products to recreate this look will be key. a workable gel that doesn't dry white or flaky is essential in creating a flawless, yet durable, style this festive season.

Precious Lee

This retro-inspired updo is classy, sexy and highly commercial - making it a go-to, salon-friendly style this festive season. It's best suited to smoothed out hair textures, using light, workable products. Varied, colour, depth and tone in the hair will add dimension and interest to this party look.

Janelle Monáe

Jannelle's whimsical outfit's exquisite detail is complimented by the purity of this runway inspired style. Suitable for most hair types and textures, this look is possible achievable at home - but as stylists we offer the expertise to execute is to another level. Using hat elastic to tightly secure the stem, plus smoothing out any flyaways, this style will last all night. Why not amp is up with jewels or ribbon for the festive season?

Halle Bailey

Halle's look oozes a majestic vibe. Pulling her braided locks high on her head and cleverly using the braids to add detail and dimension to her orb-esque 'crown' is genius. Such height, however, requires padding (and a steady neck) making this look more suited to a sit-down occasion rather than the dance floor.

Cassie

Cassie's futuristic-textured twist finishes off her Annakiki outfit perfectly with a grungy edge. The clean, polished foundation to this style can be finished with detailed texture twists or a sleek, tight twist - both leaving the ends spiky for added attitude - making this a very wearable style this season.
