Oscar glamour and salon news

Well, my salon is finallyopen!  After what feels like several decades of blood, sweat and, yes, Iam not afraid to admit it, tears, it's up and running.

People have been really positive, which has been great. I am staffed up,clients are happy, and I have even got my driveway sorted out (which was, believe it or not, the biggest headache of them all).

My press launch is on 3rd April 2010 so organising that is my next big project. Gok Wan, who I work with on How to Look Good Naked, has very kindlyagreed to open the salon for me and have his hair cut, so my PR agency GlossCommunications is sorting out television crews attending and local press. After that it's all my friends, family and well-wishers coming in to havea glass of champagne and launch my new venture!

I have also decided to offer anyone who comes in to Jamie Stevens for a cut andcolour before April 3rd 2010 the chance to go into a draw, which will give themthe chance to win a glass of champagne with me and Gok at the launch.

I am still zooming between Errol Douglas' salon in Knightsbridge, London, whereI am Art Director, and Somerset, but I found time to catch up with ElleMacPherson  who is a long-standing client and a lovely lady to work with.

The Oscars were fabulous this year, I felt; there was much lessattention-seeking fashion going on and more classic beauty, quite a lot ofwhich was Grecian influenced.  There were lots of statuesque, columndresses which looked very glamorous in a more low-key way than normal. The hair complemented that beautifully - loose chignons, hair like SandraBullock's, down and straight and ultra-glossy and healthy looking.  We'rein for a stylish summer!

Love

Jamie
