Oribe canales celebrity hairdresser dies at 62

News of celebrity hairdresser Oribe Canales' death broke on Monday. Born in Cuba, Oribe moved to the US at a young age and went on to have an enviable career which saw him working for Vogue and with various celebrities such as Gianni Versace, Naomi Campbell and Jennifer Lopez, styling runway shows and creating his own brands for both haircare and fragrance.
Loss has been felt across the industry with Errol Douglas MBE posting on
Twitter : "What a loss to our Global Hairdressing Community a true pioneer of beautiful cool glamorous hair."

"We fell in love with each other," wrote Jennifer Lopez on her tribute Instagram post. "We traveled the world together. And along with Scott Barnes they helped me blossom into JLO."
The news has come as a shock but other tributes make it clear just how much of an impact he made wherever he went. Jennifer Lopez continued: "He made me love the glam part of things. Because he loved it so much and saw it as a powerful tool to empower women." whilst Naomi Campbell described him as "my chosen Family".
His impact on the industry is undeniable and his legacy will surely live on.
