- Ensure that all addresses are genuine, clean and correct. Using real time API, email verification software ensures that your sending reputation remains strong by making sure that all subscriber details are correct when entered – before bounced emails add tarnish.
- Check that existing subscriber addresses are still valid. Email addresses are now fluid. People change providers, leave jobs, forget old accounts, or change addresses to better reflect their adult personality. Emailing defunct addresses is a wasted opportunity and unopened emails can damage your sender reputation.
- Improve email gathering. By initiating an Opt-in or Double Opt-in process when gathering emails, you can be certain that your subscribers are A) providing you with correct information, and B) really want to hear from you and are receptive to your marketing.
- Keep subscriber lists up to date. After every campaign you will notice bounced emails, unsubscribers and spam complainers. These are not marketing opportunities. They are a waste of time, money and effort and can lead to your business being spam blacklisted. Immediately remove them from your mailing list.
- Take things slowly. Sending emails slowly e.g 100 a day then slowly ramping up will give the ISP's time to identify you as a reputable and trusted email sender then you will build and grow a good email sending reputation over time.
