Ok! party - a success for wella professionals

Last night I spent the night with a host of celebrities at the OK! Party, celebrating OK! magazine around the world. Held at the Billingsgate Market in London, I was a guest of Wella Professionals, who set up a salon to tend to the tresses of the guests.Bruno Giamettei, Tracey Devine, Sean Tetlow, Akin Konizi, Jayne from Cheynes, Anya from Francesco Group and Maria from Toni & Guy were in constant demand for six hours, blow-drying, curling, straightening and even creating updos for celebs who wanted to make an impact. The demand for a hairstyle was monstrous as reality TV wannabes got ready to be papped and TV stars just wanted a quick iron before stepping in front of the cameras. As rock idols Status Quo sang their classic hits, I was looking for the good and the bad in hairstyles for a special celebrity style in 1 June issue. There were some hair -- and dress -- disasters, but OK favourite Jordan looked amazing, as did Claire Sweeney and T'Pau's Carole Decker. With everyone trying to be discovered and made a star, I was even mistaken for a celebrity -- Nicola Stephenson, the redhead from Brookside and BBC's Casualty and Superstorm!
