Slick styles continue to be a catwalk success story, with designers incorporating the sleek, wet-look finish in a variety of looks.

At Thom Browne (above) hair was inspired by traditional barbering finishes, with a sharp side part and hair swept over and slicked down to one side.

A matte finish prevents this look from being too costumey, adding instead a cool gamine finish, enhanced through the shirting materials and ties used in the show.

At Zac Posen the finish was decidedly more feminine, in keeping with the designer's romantic sensibility.

Hair had a 1930s feel, with short fingerwaves framing the face and a flat, smooth finish on the crown.

At the Carolina Herrera show, models wore hair smoothly styled in to a simple centre parting, with loose, floaty tendrils framing the face and adding contrast to the sleek finish on the crown.

Hair had a shiny, healthy, natural feel while the loose pieces added a naive, romantic finish to the look.
