Netflix documentary exec-produced by john paul mitchell systems co-founders John Paul Mitchell Systems co-founders, John Paul Dejora and Angus Mitchell, have recently executively produced a new, multi-award winning Netflix documentary titled ‘Kiss the Ground’. The film outlines the “first viable solution to our climate crisis”, exploring how regenerating the world’s soils can stabilize the Earth’s climate, restore lost ecosystems and create food supplies. Employing NASA and NOAA footage with graphics and visuals, the film illustrates the importance of soil, specifically how it draws down atmospheric carbon. Directed by documentarians Josh and Rebecca Tickell, the project was produced in California’s Big Picture Ranch, an avocado farm which also operates as a 24/7 film studio. The duo’s previous work include documentaries Fuel and The Big Fix, both of which detail the misuse of oil and its damaging impacts on the environment, as well as their first scripted drama Heartland, which depicts US Military veterans supporting Native Americans at Standing Rock in 2016. These previous projects have earned them multiple accolades, including Sundance awards and official Cannes selections. The goal of ‘Kiss the Ground’ is to “catalyse a movement to accomplish the impossible - to solve humanity’s greatest challenge, to balance the climate and secure our species’ future.” The Netflix documentary features narration from actor Woody Harrelson and, including John Paul Mitchell System's John and Angus, shares 28 executive producers, including American director and actress Rebecca Tickell, Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen and American producer Regina K. Scully. The project has received positive reviews upon release, with the New York Times stating it “inspires a rare feeling of hope”, and the LA Times labelling it as “Earth’s climate saviour.” ‘Kiss the Ground’ can be streamed on Netflix, rented on Vimeo or viewed free as a student or teacher of a college.  Check out the film's trailer below: [ytp_video source="3iknWWKZOUs"]
