Nearly three quarters of uk shoppers want to #shoplocal this christmas Is your salon ready to ride the #ShopLocal trend with an online store? A recent survey carried out by Phorest showed that the trend for supporting local businesses since COVID-19 has increased.

After lockdown has closed shops and salons across the UK, it's now a vital time to be thinking about your online strategy when it comes to selling.

This is really welcome news for small businesses everywhere, but obviously we're now in the midst of a second lockdown so it's important to be reaching out to your local clients and show them that you're online and available for them to purchase from.

With nearly 80% of consumers saying they plan to buy more from local businesses than from big retail giants, and with the countdown to Christmas on, the opportunity could be huge for small businesses like  salons and barbershops.

Granted for most of you services make up the bulk of your revenue with retail sales providing a smaller slice of the pie. But with doors closed for a number of weeks and the festive season looking very different for 2020, the new swell of support for local businesses can provide a revenue lifeline for salons.

It really is time to get moving with an online shop if you haven't already started.
